All 66 seats on Wirral Council will be up for election in May next year, and a review of polling districts and stations could change where residents cast their votes. The council has launched a public consultation, running until September 18, 2026, to gather views on the current polling arrangements.
Consultation on polling places
For the next month, Wirral Council is inviting residents, community groups, and others to take part in the review. The council said it is particularly keen to receive comments from individuals and organisations with knowledge of accessibility and the needs of voters with disabilities.
The review will assess whether current polling places still meet voters' needs and provide reasonable facilities for voting. Where an existing venue is unsuitable, people are encouraged to suggest alternatives.
How to have your say
In addition to the public, the council will consult local political parties, councillors, MPs, and the Acting Returning Officer. Details of current polling districts and places are available on Wirral Council's 'Have Your Say' portal or from the Electoral Services team.
