Bryson DeChambeau's Major Struggles Continue After TikTok Dance

Golf enthusiasts have unearthed a TikTok video posted by Bryson DeChambeau earlier this year, as his troubling performances in major championships continued at the PGA Championship. The LIV Golf star faces a battle to make the weekend at Aronimink following an opening round of 76, leaving him at six over par and nine shots adrift of the leaders.

DeChambeau's Major Woes

DeChambeau also struggled at last month's Masters, where he arrived as one of the favourites but missed the cut after a disastrous couple of days at Augusta National. His difficulties on golf's biggest stages come as he continues to build a side career as a social media personality. The American has amassed five million followers across YouTube and TikTok through entertaining golf videos featuring the likes of Donald Trump and Kevin Hart.

The Viral TikTok Video

Back in January, DeChambeau posted a peculiar video of himself dancing in front of his Christmas tree. 'How life feels right now,' he captioned the clip, which has garnered nearly four million views. Four months on, the video has resurfaced on social media in the wake of his opening-round disaster at Aronimink.

'Bryson has not shot under par at a Major since releasing this video,' one fan wrote. In fact, the American is 12 over par across three rounds at the majors in 2026. Another commented: 'I'm still in awe of the fact that he: came up with this idea, recorded all of these moves, edited them together, watched it… and still hit post.' A third added: 'I do hope he isn't choosing YouTube over golfing legacy. Such a talent.'

LIV Golf Future Uncertain

DeChambeau has won or finished third in four of his last six LIV Golf tournaments, but his long-term future is uncertain after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund announced it would stop funding the rebel tour beyond this season. He was not the only big name to struggle on Thursday. Rory McIlroy is four over par after dropping shots on each of his final four holes. When asked to assess his opening round, the Masters champion said simply: 'S***.'
