Retired wrestler and current WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H broke the sad news through an emotional Instagram post. In his tribute, he wrote: 'Today, the WWE family lost one of our beloved members. Kerwin Silfies was a huge part of the company's programming since the mid-1980s.'
Triple H continued: 'Over his 35+ year tenure with WWE production, he directed countless episodes of Raw and Smackdown, PLEs, and of course WrestleMania. With a dry wit and an unmatched passion for his work and his coworkers, Kerwin affected hundreds of employees and millions of fans.'
Colleagues Remember a Dedicated Professional
The announcement prompted an outpouring of grief from wrestling industry colleagues. AEW Dynamite commentator Taz (Peter Senerchia) shared: 'I can't explain what a super person and great director Kerwin was. I worked with him for many years in WWE on the road and in the studio. His passion for great TV in the wrestling biz was strong.'
Taz revealed an extraordinary example of Silfies' dedication: 'This man once was working in the studio through an actual heart attack and kept working! Very sad to hear this, hope they put him in the Hall of Fame. He belongs. Prayers and support to his family.'
