Miley Cyrus has emerged as the betting favourite to headline the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show, but the singer admits the prospect feels daunting. The 33-year-old, currently tipped by FanDuel with +310 odds to perform at Super Bowl LXI at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Valentine's Day, said the scale of the event 'feels like too much pressure'.
In an interview with Variety, Cyrus explained that she would need to mentally reframe the performance to avoid being overwhelmed by its global audience. 'I would have to do the mental work of making it not about the Super Bowl, because then you can’t help but go, “It’s millions of people, and it’s the most-watched thing in the world,”' she said.
The singer suggested a potential show could mirror her upcoming Disney+ special marking 20 years of Hannah Montana, which focuses on celebrating her discography and connecting with fans. 'If I could find a way to make it exactly what the Hannahversary was — taking a journey through the discography and appreciating each song, each era for what it is — I think I could find it in myself,' she added.
Cyrus has previously performed at a Super Bowl event, headlining the TikTok Tailgate show for Super Bowl LV in 2021, where she entertained 7,500 healthcare workers alongside guests Billy Idol and Joan Jett. Her extensive hit catalogue, spanning pop, country and rock, includes chart-toppers such as 'Flowers' and 'Wrecking Ball'.
Behind Cyrus, other stars favoured by bettors for the 2027 slot include Cardi B, Lil Wayne and Taylor Swift. The Grammy winner has long been a fan favourite for the halftime show, with many noting her genre-spanning appeal.
