YouTuber and new Dagenham & Redbridge shareholder KSI will make history this Saturday by live-streaming the club's National League South fixture against Hampton & Richmond on his personal YouTube channel. This marks the first time a National League match has been broadcast live on the platform.
The initiative, backed by the National League and DAZN, follows KSI's unveiling as a Dagenham shareholder on 3 March. Dagenham's chief commercial officer, John Grabowski, said: 'We appreciate DAZN’s creativity and ambition to partner with KSI and bring our match to a global audience, for free. It is a powerful statement of intent from DAZN and the National League.'
Pete Oliver, chief executive of Growth Markets at DAZN, highlighted KSI's reach: 'It’s incredible to see someone with KSI’s global reach and cultural influence shine a spotlight on Dagenham & Redbridge and the National League.' National League chief executive Phil Alexander called the streaming a 'landmark moment' for non-league football.
Dagenham have been in the spotlight since KSI's arrival, and they recently appointed player and shareholder Andy Carroll as interim manager. Carroll previously played for Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham, and represented England internationally.
