Joseph Baena, the 27-year-old son of Arnold Schwarzenegger, has shared a candid look at his weight loss transformation, revealing that he was once 'chubby' in high school. In an Instagram post, he recalled being cut from basketball and soccer teams because he could not keep up with other children, and credited swimming with changing his life.
Baena, who works in real estate and bodybuilding, posted a video showing a younger version of himself lounging on a couch before cutting to a photo of him as a child on the beach and a clip of his current fit self. 'People sometimes forget that I used to be chubby in high school,' he wrote, adding that swimming 'completely changed my life forever' and introduced him to fitness.
Fans praised his journey, with comments calling it 'inspiring' and noting his resemblance to his father. His brother Christopher, 27, has also lost over 30 pounds by giving up bread for Lent. Christopher shared at a health summit that his weight was 'prohibiting me from doing everyday activities' and emphasised that transformation is a 'big process' requiring trial and error.
Joseph is the son of Schwarzenegger and Mildred Baena, the family's former housekeeper, born during Schwarzenegger's marriage to Maria Shriver. He has four half-siblings: Katherine, Christina, Patrick, and Christopher.
