Speaking to reporters in Atlanta, where the team is preparing for matches against Belgium and Portugal, Reyna admitted, "I guess you could say it was sort of one of Mauricio Pochettino's more difficult decisions, or controversial decisions, to maybe bring me in." He added, "Again, I can't appreciate it enough. Love this team, love this staff, love this group of people. So just always honored to be here."
Reyna's club career has been marked by inconsistency and frustration. Since an unsuccessful loan spell at Nottingham Forest in 2024, he has struggled to find a stable role. At Borussia Mönchengladbach, he has made only 13 appearances this season, with just two since January, totaling a mere 26 minutes on the pitch.
