BBC Morning Live host Gethin Jones marked his 48th birthday with a ski holiday in Morzine, joined by Sky Sports presenter Pien Meulensteen and a group of friends. The Welsh presenter shared photos on Instagram, including one of the group enjoying a hot tub.
Jones captioned his post: 'A quality few days in Morzine with a top class group 'the padel princesses'. First time I went to the mountains I raced half pipe and tried a ski jump, this was around 20 years ago! I've been skiing a few times since then but decided to get my first lesson this time, and guess what, it really helped.'
Pien Meulensteen, 29, is the daughter of former Manchester United assistant manager Rene Meulensteen. She began her media career at BBC Manchester while studying at the University of Salford and now presents for Sky Sports, ITV, DAZN and the Premier League's channel.
In 2023, Meulensteen became the first female commentator on a live Premier League fixture for Sky Sports. She told The Guardian in 2024 that she never imagined pursuing commentary, but her father encouraged her: 'Where do you want to be in five years' time? Where do you want to be in 20 years' time? ... Then go through that door and see what happens next.'
