Trump Slammed as 'Moron' Over New Passport Featuring His Own Face
Trump Slammed 'Moron' Over Passport With His Face

Donald Trump has been branded a 'moron' after unveiling a new commemorative passport online, featuring a photo of himself. The limited-edition U.S. passport was designed to commemorate America's 250th birthday, and Trump shared an image of the newly designed pages on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Passport Design and Backlash

The passport includes an image of the president with his fists on the Resolute Desk, the Declaration of Independence in the background, and his signature below. The U.S. State Department announced the limited passports will be available from July 6, only while supplies last. However, the image of Trump on the passport has received significant backlash.

Trump introduced the new passport on Truth Social, stating: “The U.S.A.’s New Passport, which says, ‘Welcome, but be good!’” Yet the text “welcome but be good” does not appear in the images of the passport pages he shared. This discrepancy led many to insist he must be unaware of how a passport functions.

Social Media Reactions

Social media users quickly responded. One user said: “Who does the moron think gets passports? The next president needs to cancel this crap and declare it invalid.” Another added: “Ummmm… U.S. passports are used by U.S. citizens traveling abroad. Welcome to what?” Others noted: “Sad part? No other president in history put their face on a U.S. passport. Not Washington. Not Lincoln. Just the 34-count felon.”

Availability and Context

The document is currently very limited and only available to American citizens. The State Department said Americans must apply for the limited passports through an in-person visit to the passport agency in Washington, D.C., according to the Mirror US. This marks the first time a living, current president has been featured on a U.S. passport. The State Department will release 40,000 of the limited-edition commemorative passports, which will become the default version issued to anyone who applies in person at the Washington Passport Agency.
