Trump Brands Marjorie Taylor Greene 'Traitor' in Epstein Files Feud
Trump calls MTG 'traitor' over Epstein files dispute

Former President Donald Trump has dramatically intensified his public conflict with former ally Marjorie Taylor Greene, unleashing a series of verbal attacks that include branding the Georgia representative a "traitor" over her continued demands for the release of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents.

The Truth Social Onslaught

Trump launched his initial assault late Friday and continued throughout Saturday morning on his Truth Social platform, where he didn't hold back in his criticism of the MAGA firebrand. In one particularly scathing post, the former president fumed: "Marjorie 'Traitor' Green is a disgrace to our GREAT REPUBLICAN PARTY!"

He followed this with another lengthy condemnation, accusing Greene of "betraying" the Republican party and suggesting she had turned to the left. Trump wrote: "Lightweight Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Brown (Green grass turns Brown when it begins to ROT!), betrayed the entire Republican Party when she turned Left, performed poorly on the pathetic View, and became the RINO that we all know she always was."

Greene's Defiant Stance

Marjorie Taylor Greene has remained steadfast in her position despite the former president's attacks. Shortly before Trump's latest outburst, she took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her commitment to transparency regarding the Epstein case.

"I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of rich powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are," Greene stated in her social media post.

The Georgia representative has accused the White House of making what she describes as a "huge miscalculation" in dismissing the Epstein saga as a "Democrat hoax." She emphasised her belief in the American people over any individual leader, stating: "I believe in the American people more than I believe in any leader."

Political Fallout and Future Implications

This public falling out represents a significant fracture within the Republican party's MAGA wing. Greene, who has been one of Trump's most vocal supporters in Congress, now finds herself on the receiving end of his characteristic wrath.

In her social media statement, Greene called for "a new way forward," criticising what she termed the "toxic political industrial complex" that "thrives on ripping us all apart but never delivers anything good for the American people."

The dispute centres on the ongoing controversy surrounding the Epstein files, which contain information about the convicted sex offender's associates and activities. While Trump has dismissed the matter as politically motivated, Greene has positioned herself as advocating for transparency and justice for victims.

This remarkable public clash between two of the most prominent figures in contemporary American conservative politics signals potential internal divisions that could have lasting implications for the Republican party as the 2024 election cycle approaches.
