President Donald Trump appeared to fall asleep again while delivering an address at the Rose Garden on Monday, August 24. A short clip shared on X shows the leader with his eyes shut after speaking about "expanding school choice." The caption reads: "Ok guys, I think Trump nodded off here at the Rose Garden."
Repeated incidents during second term
This is not the first time Trump has been accused of dozing at an important event. Several times during his second term, concerns have been raised about his health due to apparent tiredness. In April, clips showed him falling asleep midway through a briefing on changes to child vaccination policies. On other occasions, critics have noticed the President's eyes shut during meetings.
Trump also supposedly fell asleep at a "Making Health Technology Great Again" event at the White House last summer and, more recently, at a cabinet meeting.
Growing health concerns
The 80-year-old has faced increasing health fears recently due to public missteps and visible marks and bruising. Over the last year, it has been claimed that Trump has fallen asleep in public at least 14 times, adding to concerns about his well-being.
A CNN panelist recently critiqued Trump for "sleeping through literally every meeting." She declared: "He [Trump] said that gas prices are fine; that's actually not true that he's 'focused on the gas prices.' He sleeps through literally every meeting. We see it in real time."
