A former loyal supporter of Donald Trump has publicly expressed regret for voting for him three times, branding him the 'worst president ever' and accusing him of blatant corruption.
The caller, identified as Thomas from Hawaii, told CSPAN that he voted for Trump in 2016, 2020, and 2024 but now deeply regrets his support. 'He's a con man, a liar, doesn't keep his promises. He's in office all for himself and he doesn't even try to hide his corruption anymore,' Thomas said.
Thomas explained that his change of heart was not due to a single event but a cumulative realisation. 'It's gotten so blatant now... He was gonna lower prices on day one, only he could fix this stuff,' he added, criticising Trump's unfulfilled promises.
He urged others to vote for Democrats to restore balance, saying, 'Right now, the only weapon is to vote for as many democrats, whether you like them or not. Just to get some balance back into our system of checks and balances.'
Thomas's comments come amid polling showing Trump's historically low approval ratings, particularly on inflation. A Reuters/Ipsos poll found only 21% of Americans approve of his handling of inflation, while a Fox News poll put that figure at 28%.
