TalkTV host erupts at Burnham over Brexit 'betrayal' in live rant

TalkTV presenter Alex Phillips has launched a blistering on-air attack on Prime Minister Andy Burnham, accusing him of an "anti-democratic" Brexit betrayal and questioning his latest plans for the country.

During her programme, Phillips erupted in fury, exclaiming: "How dare you! How blooming well dare you!" before branding the UK leader a "little, nasty, anti-democratic piece of work."

Rant over Manchester move and Brussels

Phillips then laid into Burnham's reported proposal to relocate government operations to Manchester, away from Parliament and the Westminster bubble.

"First of all, you think you can move the operation up to Manchester, away from Parliament, away from the lobbyists, away from the journalists, away from fellow Parliamentarians, away from accountability," she raged.

She continued: "Then you think, 'Oh, the Brexit referendum in 2016 doesn't matter, I know best, I think that the bureaucrats in Brussels should be deciding.'"

Education, culture and defence concerns

The presenter went on to question the government's direction across several policy areas, asking: "What's in our education system? What's in our culture? And defence, and don't get me started on PESCO, it is the greatest trust to NATO."

The comments come as part of a breaking live TV story, with further updates expected as they become available.
