In response to a report on a YouGov poll asking whether the Sussex family should return to the UK, a reader has questioned the absence of a "don't care" option. The poll offered three choices: "yes", "no", and "don't know", which were selected by 21%, 33%, and 45% of respondents, respectively.

Anne Cowper from Bishopston, Swansea, wrote to the Guardian to ask whether the outcome would have been the same if a "don't care" option had been included. Her letter was published among several others on various topics.
Another letter, from Cat Bracey in Bristol, discussed the confusion caused by shared names in her family. She noted that she and her brother's wife are both Catherine M Bracey, but she goes by Cat and the other by Cathy. Her husband is named Huw, while the other is Hugh.

Patricia Baker-Cassidy from Oxford suggested that every room in parliament should display a warning beside fire safety notices, stating: "Because you are an MP, you will be offered gifts. And because you are an MP, you must decline them." This followed a report that MPs accepted £400,000 of hospitality.
Rowan Haynes from Thringstone, Leicestershire, responded to a letter about parents' pain when children leave for university. As a mother of four young adults still at home, she said she is more familiar with the pain when they do not leave.
Heather Royles from Hitchin, Hertfordshire, protested at a half-finished limerick about a man from Wirral, insisting it should be "the Wirral".
