Ousted Ukrainian defence minister Mykhailo Fedorov has rejected suggestions that he take any other job in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's government, despite alternatives put forward by the president.
Fedorov's Statement
“No other role carries the actual authority to combat procurement corruption, complete the army’s transformation, plan and execute asymmetric operations against the enemy,” Fedorov said in a statement sent to reporters and quoted by Reuters.
Protests Continue
Fedorov’s dismissal last week sparked rare wartime street protests. His supporters have vowed to continue demonstrating until he is restored to his original position as defence minister.
