Millie Mackintosh says Made In Chelsea lifestyle was 'fabricated' and she took the bus to filming

Millie Mackintosh has claimed that the glamorous lifestyle shown on Made In Chelsea was 'fabricated', revealing she commuted to filming by bus. The reality star, 36, shot to fame on the E4 programme in 2011 and appeared for five series before leaving.

Speaking on the Olivia's House podcast, Mackintosh said she was approached by researchers after a flatmate auditioned. She recalled walking out in her underwear and discussing her dating life, leading to them asking her to join. She added that she 'took the bus' on her first day, but producers made her get out of a Bentley for the cameras.

Mackintosh, who is now four years sober, admitted the show fuelled her alcohol dependency. She said she would drink before filming confrontational scenes, as 'those drink throws didn't happen when I was sober'. She also noted she wasn't even living in Chelsea at the time.

The star left the show after beginning a romance with her first husband, Professor Green, saying it 'didn't make sense anymore' to be on a show where her relationship wouldn't be filmed. She later rekindled with former co-star Hugo Taylor, whom she married in 2018. The couple separated in March this year.
