ITV Renews Hit Quiz Show The 1% Club for Three More Series
ITV Renews The 1% Club for Three More Series

ITV has confirmed that its immensely popular quiz programme, The 1% Club, will return for three additional series. Hosted by comedian Lee Mack, the show first aired in 2022 and challenges contestants on their logic and common sense rather than general knowledge.

Format and Success

Each episode features 100 participants competing for a jackpot that can reach up to £100,000. The ultimate goal is to join the exclusive 1% Club by correctly answering a question that only 1% of the population is expected to solve. The programme has garnered significant acclaim, including three National Television Awards for Best Quiz Show.

Reactions to the Renewal

Lee Mack expressed his delight at the news, stating: 'I'm delighted that ITV has given us three more series to discover Great British clever clogs. I just told my family how old I would be when these three series are over, but apparently I got it wrong. Which shows you how well I'd do as a contestant.'

Sue Murphy, ITV's Director of Factual Entertainment, added: 'We're thrilled to be renewing The 1% Club for a further three years. The show has become a huge hit with viewers of all ages. With Lee at the helm as always, we can't wait to bring more series and specials to the viewers. It's a brilliant entertainment show with a unique format that viewers love to play along with at home, and its broad appeal makes it a hugely valuable part of our slate on ITV.'

The show's creators and executive producers, Dean Nabarro and Andy Auerbach, commented: 'It's a wonderful vote of confidence that ITV has commissioned three more years of the show and we're delighted that so many more people will now get the chance to join The 1% Club.'

Upcoming Spin-offs and Specials

In addition to the new series, viewers can look forward to the return of the spin-off The 1% Club Rollover later this year, and The 1% Club Kids Special is scheduled to air this month.

Recent Jackpot Win

In March, a contestant secured a substantial £97,000 jackpot after solving a challenging clock-related question. The episode came down to two finalists, Zoe and Ryan, competing for the grand prize. The final question asked: 'What word is represented by the times on the clocks below?' Below were five different clocks showing various times. When revealing their answers to Lee, Ryan had not submitted anything, while Zoe wrote 'Label'. 'Label' was confirmed correct, awarding Zoe the entire £97,000 jackpot. Reflecting on the moment, Lee noted that Zoe realised she knew the answer, and Zoe later said: 'I think after I put it, I was like, "I think that's right".'

The 1% Club airs on ITV1 and is available on ITVX.
