Hanson: domestic violence leave 'ridiculous'

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has described paid leave for those suffering family and domestic violence as “ridiculous” and suggested the issue is taking police away from “real crime”.

Family court system 'broken'

In an unearthed interview, Hanson said the advancements of women’s rights in the family law system over decades had become “broken” because courts favoured women and were now “suppressing the males all the time”.

The comments, made on a November 2025 podcast and first reported by the Nine newspapers, resurfaced after Hanson was criticised over her suggestions domestic violence was a “two-way street”.
