Marjorie Taylor Greene Launches 'AFAO' Movement After Trump Split
Greene's 'AFAO' Movement After Trump Public Feud

Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has dramatically unveiled a new political slogan for conservative supporters following her very public falling out with former President Donald Trump.

The Birth of AFAO

On Saturday afternoon, the Georgia lawmaker took to social media to introduce her new rallying cry: 'AFAO', which stands for 'America First America Only'. This bold move comes as Greene, once considered one of Trump's most loyal allies, has increasingly voiced her disagreements with the former president's recent policy directions.

The political rift reached its boiling point on Friday night when Trump sensationally withdrew his endorsement of Greene, describing her as 'a ranting lunatic' in a withering social media post. The former president announced he was 'unendorsing' the congresswoman, citing her recent criticisms of his agenda.

Policy Disagreements Come to a Head

Greene's dissatisfaction with Trump has been building for several weeks, primarily focusing on what she perceives as misplaced priorities in his foreign policy approach. The Georgia Republican has been pushing for greater emphasis on domestic issues and has openly criticised several key aspects of Trump's current platform.

Among her specific concerns are Trump's implementation of trade tariffs, which she described as 'bumpy', and his assertion that inflation is under control. Greene has also emphasised the need for Republicans to develop concrete plans to address rising healthcare costs affecting ordinary Americans.

In her Saturday tweet explaining the AFAO philosophy, Greene wrote: 'My heart is with Americans who struggle to afford life in America today. After tyrannical covid lockdowns and gigantic government spending bailouts, inflation has driven cost out of control, while American jobs have been replaced by visa holders and illegals.'

Escalating Conflict and Security Concerns

The political drama intensified on Saturday when Greene revealed that Trump's public criticism had led to serious security concerns. She reported receiving death threats and claimed that private security firms had contacted her with warnings about her safety.

'Aggressive rhetoric attacking me has historically led to death threats and multiple convictions of men who were radicalised by the same type of rhetoric being directed at me right now,' Greene posted. 'This time by the President of the United States.'

Greene suggested that Trump's attacks were motivated by her support for releasing files related to Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender who had previously been associated with Trump before their relationship soured. She claimed the former president was trying to intimidate Republicans ahead of a House vote on making the Epstein documents public.

Trump countered these allegations on his Truth Social platform, calling Greene a 'Lightweight Congresswoman' and 'Traitor' while dismissing the Epstein controversy as a Democratic hoax. He suggested that conservative voters in Greene's district might consider supporting a primary challenger in next year's congressional election.

Despite speculation about her political ambitions, Greene has dismissed suggestions that she's positioning herself for a 2028 presidential bid, insisting she remains focused on representing her northwest Georgia constituency.
