Gordon Ramsay has hit back at a TikTok user who claimed a dog was allowed to defecate inside one of his London restaurants, calling the allegation an 'over-exaggerated' attempt at clickbait.
The controversy began on May 1 when TikTok user Gizzelle Cade posted videos of her visit to Ramsay's Street Pizza in Battersea. She alleged that a dog defecated on a training pad in the middle of the restaurant and that the manager permitted the behaviour, prompting her to leave.
Speaking to TMZ on Tuesday, the 59-year-old chef said CCTV footage showed the dog did not defecate. 'Under no circumstances did that dog do a pee or a poo,' he stated. 'So over-exaggerated, as always, clickbait.' Ramsay added that dogs are welcome only outside or on the terrace.
Cade's videos have amassed over 20 million views, with commenters criticising the restaurant's management. One wrote: 'So disrespectful to those eating.' Another said: 'I'm a dog owner... and this is still a massive NO.'
In response to Ramsay's remarks, Cade accused him of sidestepping the broader issue of hygiene and policy standards. She questioned whether the Gordon Ramsay brand's standards were upheld and called for transparency. Ramsay, who operates over 90 restaurants worldwide, rose to fame with his 1999 BBC documentary Boiling Point and later through reality shows like Hell's Kitchen.
