The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has released a copy of a report detailing the reasons behind the party's loss in the 2024 presidential election. The report, authored by Democratic strategist Paul Rivera, was made public on Thursday.
Report Contents and Publication
News of the report and the full document were first published by CNN. The report was commissioned at the request of Ken Martin, the DNC's committee chair. The version released by CNN includes annotations added by the DNC to Rivera's original analysis.
Background and Apology
The report was handed to Martin late last year, as he confirmed in a statement to CNN. However, he refrained from sharing it at that time because no source material was provided. Martin apologized for the delay but emphasized that he is now releasing the document despite it still not meeting his standards. He stated, 'People need to be able to trust the Democratic Party and trust our word.'
