Stacey Solomon Rejected Celebrity Traitors Over Honesty Fears

Stacey Solomon turned down a highly lucrative opportunity to appear on The Celebrity Traitors, driven by a very relatable reason: she feared she would fail at the game. The Sort Your Life Out star was convinced she could not put on a convincing performance of cheating and lying, leading her to decline the offer.

BBC executives were reportedly keen to have the 36-year-old in the star-studded line-up for the second season of the show, but she was not on board with the idea. A source revealed: “Stacey was flattered to be asked but she didn’t want to do the Traitors as she knows it is so reliant on being able to strategise and lie and cheat convincingly. That’s just not Stacey so she didn’t think it would be the right fit for her.”

Stacey joins the likes of Ricky Gervais and Jeremy Clarkson in turning down an appearance on The Celebrity Traitors. Clarkson, star of Clarkson’s Farm, admitted he was far too busy to consider the offer, saying: “I wouldn’t in a million years. I’ve got ten jobs already why would I want 11?”

The decision comes after Stacey and her husband, former EastEnders star Joe Swash, 44, recently cleared up rumours about their marriage and confirmed the future of their reality show. The couple have been married since 2022, but fans speculated about trouble when Stacey was spotted without her wedding ring. She shot down the rumours, and it emerged that their wedding ceremony at their home, known as Pickle Cottage, was not legally binding. The pair insisted they simply had not got around to making it official in the four years since, but their relationship remains stronger than ever.

After rising to fame on The X Factor in 2009, where she placed third behind Olly Murs and Joe McElderry, Stacey won I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! and built an illustrious career in presenting, including roles on Loose Women and the BAFTA-winning Sort Your Life Out. She and Joe began fronting Stacey & Joe in 2025 for the BBC, with cameras following their busy family and professional lives.

It has now been confirmed that the duo have signed on for a third series of the show, which will document Joe’s efforts to build a fishing lake at the family home.
