Katie Zacharia tipped as next White House press secretary

Conservative commentator Katie Zacharia has reportedly been selected as the next White House press secretary. The news comes more than a month after Karoline Leavitt left her role as US President Donald Trump's White House press secretary at the end of August.

Zacharia is set to fill the high-profile position, as first reported by The New York Times. Before this new role, she had a brief stint at the Department of Homeland Security. Images on her social media show that her look prior to joining MAGA appeared markedly different compared to now, as she prepares to serve the president from the White House press briefing room.

Experience within the Trump administration

It remains uncertain whether Zacharia has formally accepted the White House press secretary role. She boasts previous experience within the Trump administration, with her LinkedIn profile showing she worked as a DHS spokesperson for two months earlier this year.

She also completed internships with the Republican National Committee in 2006 and at the Office of Political Affairs at the White House during the same period, reports the Irish Star. Her profile indicates that since June 2026, she has been working as a senior communications adviser for Trump Media and Technology Group, the firm behind the president's favoured social media platform, Truth Social.

Public persona and media appearances

Zacharia has branded herself as a "hardline Trump supporter," and she regularly voices her backing for the president across her social media channels. She has featured as a pundit on Newsmax, Fox News, and CNN, while her LinkedIn profile reveals that she currently works as general counsel at Fix California.

Throughout the years, it seems she has undergone a MAGA makeover, much like other women within Trump's inner circle. Judging by snaps from her Instagram, stretching back approximately 13 years, Zacharia sported a completely different style compared to how she looks today.

Style evolution over the years

In a snap from October 2012, Zacharia featured in a group shot, captioned: "Out on the town in Shanghai with my sis and Carolyn!" She looked fresh-faced, wearing minimal or no makeup, sporting lengthy golden blonde locks. Another image uploaded to her Instagram in March 2013 showed Zacharia clutching a cup of bubble tea, accompanied by the caption: "Love me my bubble tea." Much like the 2012 image, her makeup looked understated, and she sported a grey hat alongside a leather jacket and black top for a relaxed ensemble.

In November 2023, she shared a throwback snap from what appears to be her White House internship, posing alongside former basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Zacharia beamed at the camera, with her blonde hair swept back and sporting a natural makeup style.

In latest snaps of Zacharia, she sports her lengthy blonde locks in polished flowing waves, her brows look more defined, her lips seem fuller, and she appears to opt for more striking eye makeup styles. She always looks picture-perfect in images across her social media channels, as her complexion has a flawless and porcelain-like finish, while she favours dramatic winged liner and striking lashes with her cosmetics. Zacharia also now appears to choose more daring lipstick and lip gloss shades.

The visual appeal of MAGA has emerged as a hot topic of discussion, as numerous observers have spotted the makeover transformations amongst several high-profile personalities within the MAGA movement, including Leavitt, Kristi Noem, Kimberly Guilfoyle, amongst others.
