Prime Minister Andy Burnham faced backlash after a GB News interview on migration, with viewers calling his answers "useless" and vague.
Interview sparks criticism
In the interview, Burnham spoke with journalist Chris Hope about the ongoing migrant crisis and his plans to tackle small boat crossings. He said, "We will now change our tactics, and we will be relentless in chasing them down."
Burnham noted that there is already "more law enforcement" by France on the other side of the English Channel, which has led to "quite a reduction in the number of crossings, but that's not good enough."

Burnham's promises
Burnham reiterated, "We will keep going at this issue until we deliver that eradication that people are looking for." He promised that his ministry would maintain a "relentless focus" on the issue and were bringing in "more measures" to tackle it.
Burnham, who became prime minister in July, recently admitted that migrant crossings may continue for another three years. He has refrained from giving any official timeline for resolving the issue but has admitted the UK and French governments will need to "change our tactics" in response to the arrival of mega dinghies.
