Zelensky Warns Putin Every Russian Defense Facility Is a Just Target

Ukraine struck a major industrial facility in the Russian city of Volgograd on Saturday, using FP-5 Flamingo missiles. President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a stark warning to Vladimir Putin, stating that every Russian defense facility "is a just target." The attack targeted the Titan-Barrikady plant, which produces artillery systems and components for missile launch systems, including the Iskander-M system.

Zelensky's Four-Word Warning

Zelensky announced the strike on social media, posting footage of the missiles hitting the facility. "Every one of Putin's defense facilities is a just target," he wrote. He described the Titan-Barrikady complex as a "major industrial complex" where Russia manufactures specialized military equipment.

The edited video shows missiles launched from the ground, soaring through the sky before striking the site. One clip captures a huge fireball erupting, with thick smoke billowing over the industrial area.

Casualties and Damage

Volgograd Governor Andrei Bocharov confirmed the attack on a business in the Krasnooktyabrsky district, reporting 10 wounded individuals taken to hospital. He noted damage to production facilities but did not identify the company. Ukraine's General Staff stated the facility produces self-propelled launchers and transport-loading vehicles for the Iskander-M missile system, which Russia regularly uses to strike Ukrainian cities.

Escalation of Long-Range Attacks

Ukraine has intensified long-range aerial attacks on Russian military and energy facilities to cut Moscow's war revenue and make Russians feel the consequences of the invasion, now in its fifth year. On Saturday morning, Ukraine's state security service also struck an oil pumping facility in Russia's Vladimir region, which supplies fuel to Moscow. This marks the second strike on that facility this month.

The attacks follow one of Ukraine's largest drone offensives since the full-scale invasion began. On Friday, Russia's Defense Ministry reported intercepting 660 Ukrainian drones across a dozen regions, Russian-held Crimea, and surrounding seas.

Zelensky's 40-Day Influence Operation

On Thursday, Zelensky announced he had ordered a "40-day influence operation," believed to involve an escalation of attacks aimed at compelling Russia to end the war. This comes after US peace efforts over the past year failed to achieve a breakthrough.

In Ukraine's Sumy region, a 66-year-old man was killed in a Russian drone strike, according to regional head Oleh Hryhorov.
