Three Dead, One Critical After Multi-Car Crash in Halifax

Three men have died and another is fighting for his life following a three-vehicle collision in Halifax, West Yorkshire Police have confirmed. The crash occurred at approximately 6:50pm on Wednesday on Keighley Road in Illingworth, at the junction of Cobblestones Drive.

The deceased—two men aged 22 and a 21-year-old man—were all travelling in a Ford Fiesta. A fourth occupant, also aged 21, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. The collision involved a BMW and a stationary, unoccupied Renault Clio.

A 37-year-old man and two women, aged 18 and 32, all from Halifax, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. They remain in police custody. The road remains closed while investigations continue.

Detective Sergeant Paul Lightowler of the Major Collision Enquiry Team said: “Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of the people who died. Specially trained officers will be supporting the families involved. This is a tragic incident and extensive enquiries are ongoing at the scene this morning.”
