Katie Miller, a conservative podcaster and wife of senior Trump administration official Stephen Miller, has reported feeling threatened after protesters wrote messages in chalk outside the couple’s home in Arlington, Virginia. The incident occurred in September, with messages including “Stephen Miller is destroying democracy” and “DEI enriches all.”
Miller described the actions as “terroristic threats” and “doxxing” on Fox News. However, a police report obtained by Zeteo stated that the messages were “non-threatening and alluded to political issues such as immigration, transgender rights, DEI, and white supremacy.”
The group Arlington Neighbors United for Humanity (ANUFH) claimed responsibility for the chalking, stating on Instagram that they were legally allowed to chalk on the sidewalks and that they did not interact with the Millers. The group said they complied with a request not to chalk directly in front of the home.
Following the incident, the Millers put their $3.75 million house on the market in October and moved into taxpayer-subsidised military housing, citing safety concerns for their three young children. Katie Miller told Fox News’s Ruthless podcast that people had been driving by the home and that the family had received death threats.
A state and federal investigation has been opened into potential protesters, according to the New York Times. White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson confirmed ongoing inquiries into death threats and a doxxing campaign against the family.
ANUFH responded to Katie Miller’s concerns, stating that they believe in peaceful activism and that all people deserve dignity and respect. The group noted that the Millers were protected by heavily armed security and police during the protest.
