Greene's break follows Carlson's own high-profile rejection of the GOP. During a podcast appearance, Carlson said there was 'no chance' he would support the Republican Party anymore, though he clarified he would not shift to the Democratic Party either.
Both Greene and Carlson have emerged as vocal critics of President Donald Trump's second term, particularly over the conflict with Iran and what they see as a failure to address domestic issues like inflation. Carlson has said he regrets his previous support for Trump.
The rift between Greene and Trump widened after she criticised the administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files. Trump reportedly began calling her 'Marjorie Traitor Greene', and Greene later revealed she and her family received death threats after Trump's attacks.
Carlson said his decision to part ways with the Republican Party stemmed from its abandonment of 'America first' principles, particularly regarding foreign conflicts. He has repeatedly criticised Israel, arguing it pushed Washington toward war with Iran.
