A man who used CS spray on hospital staff, forcing the evacuation of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, has been jailed for 44 months. Piotr Huczynski, 37, pleaded guilty to assault and reckless discharge of a firearm at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in January.
The attack occurred around 5.30pm on October 10, 2025, after Huczynski became annoyed over long waiting times in the A&E unit. CCTV footage shows him spraying a corrosive substance in the face of a medic and a security guard before fleeing the scene.
The hospital was closed for three hours following the incident. Huczynski was also banned from driving for over six years after speeding off in a car, despite being disqualified until 2034.
Inspector Katy Townhill condemned the attack, stating: 'This was a reckless incident that resulted in two people being injured. Huczynski showed no regard for the welfare of others in the hospital.'
