Influencer Charged with Attempted Murder After Nightclub Crash

A former X Factor contestant and social media influencer has been charged with attempted murder after a car mounted the pavement outside a Soho nightclub, leaving three people injured. Gabrielle Carrington, 29, known online as RIELLEUK, was arrested following the incident on Argyll Street near the Inca nightclub at around 4.30am on Sunday.

The collision involved a vehicle striking pedestrians, resulting in injuries to a man in his fifties who was unlocking his e-scooter and two women. The man suffered life-changing injuries, while one woman in her thirties is in a life-threatening condition. The other woman, also believed to be in her thirties, sustained less serious injuries and was treated at the scene.

Carrington has been charged with attempted murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm, and drink driving. She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the charges and urged witnesses to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell of Specialist Crime South said: 'As our enquiries continue, our thoughts are with those injured and their loved ones. While this incident took place in the early hours, venues in the area were still open, and we believe a number of people will have seen what happened. I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision, or any activity prior to it that they feel may be of relevance, to come forward.'

Carrington, who has around 362,000 Instagram followers, appeared on The X Factor in 2013 as part of the girl group Miss Dynamix, reaching the live finals. The incident is not being treated as terror-related. Police are appealing for information via 101 quoting reference 3374/19APR, or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
