The body of a 23-year-old British tourist who fell from a cliff in New South Wales has been found. Police confirmed that the remains washed ashore at Billies Beach in Corrunna.
The man fell several metres into the ocean from a cliff at Mystery Bay Beach on January 18, prompting a major search involving police, marine rescue and a helicopter. He was sightseeing with a friend at the time of the accident.
Chief Inspector Shane Jessep of the South Coast Police District said the man slipped on rocks and was not engaged in rock fishing. The search had been scaled back last week before the body was discovered.
This incident follows the death of another British tourist, Eleanor Thompson, 35, who was crushed by her van during a cyclone in New South Wales earlier this year.
