A Cardiff man has spoken of how he suffered a brain haemorrhage and spent three days in a coma after being allegedly attacked by a bouncer in the Majorcan resort of Magaluf. Josh Pesticcio, 24, said he wants to warn others of the dangers of clubbing in the popular nightlife destination.
Mr Pesticcio was on holiday with 24 friends from his football club, the Cardiff Locksmiths, and four of their fathers. On 26 June 2022, after dinner and drinks, the group headed to the Magaluf strip. An altercation broke out when a friend jumped on another's back, drawing the attention of a bouncer.
The bouncer intervened, and after a drink was spilled, Mr Pesticcio said he was dragged outside through the front door. His friend Joel Norris found him lying unconscious on the pavement with blood flowing. Another friend, Rhys Rogan, said there was a large circle of people and he initially thought Mr Pesticcio was dead.
Mr Pesticcio was placed in an induced coma and spent three days unconscious. His father, Steve Pesticcio, said he was told his son was within an hour of dying. The Guardia Civil told the BBC there was a drunken fight between two groups in the club which continued outside.
