Tuchel Names 26-Man England Squad for World Cup

England’s men’s football team heads to the 2026 World Cup under new head coach Thomas Tuchel, aiming to end a 60-year wait for a major tournament victory. The Three Lions came close under former manager Gareth Southgate, reaching the semi-finals in 2018 and finishing as runners-up in the last two European Championships.

Tuchel oversaw an impressive qualifying campaign, with England becoming the first European side to win eight qualifiers without conceding a goal. However, the team’s confidence took a hit after two underwhelming performances in March friendlies against Uruguay and Japan.

The German coach has selected a 26-man squad for this summer’s tournament, with all statistics accurate as of 9 June. The squad includes a blend of experienced internationals and emerging talent, as England look to build on recent tournament progress.
