Donald Trump lashed out at a reporter during a Fox News press conference after being questioned about his health, telling him, "You are disgusting" and "Put yourself in shape. You look like hell."
The exchange came after the president cancelled his final two rallies before Election Day in Kansas and Iowa. Fox News briefly paused its live coverage for a Trump news alert.
Reporter's Question Sparks Outburst
The journalist had asked: "You not going to Kansas have something to do with you being sick of travelling?" Trump dismissed the claim before exploding live on air, saying, "You're sick for asking that. You're a sick guy." He then pointed at the reporter and mocked his appearance.
Trump fumed: "You know what the reason is... I don't feel I have to go to Kansas."
The president claimed the same reporter had followed him around asking about his health for the past two weeks. He mockingly said, "He asks, 'Are you going to Kansas, sir? Are you feeling well?' He's been following me around for two weeks. I feel perfect. You're disgusting. Put yourself in shape. You look like hell."
Viewer Reactions
Viewers flocked to comment on Trump's outburst. One commented, "Trump can't handle a serious question. He's so thin-skinned." Another echoed, "He's unhinged." A third remarked, "The man is so disgusting." A fourth shared, "He's so rude. There is no need to be so awful towards a reporter asking a question."
A fifth wrote: "What an absolute disgrace and embarrassment to our nation and the office of the President." Another said: "Throwing personal insults at a reporter doing his job is beyond disgusting." "He asked if it's because he travelled so much. Trump loses his mind at a normal question and reveals so much more," a seventh added.
Health Scrutiny and White House Response
The 80-year-old's health has come under scrutiny for several months, including severely bruised hands, recurring rashes, and persistently swollen ankles, while also concerning experts with his rambling speeches, mental lapses, moments of public confusion, and habit of falling asleep during official meetings.
The White House has continued to push back, declaring Trump is in "excellent health." A spokesperson said: "The President is working nonstop to solve problems and deliver on his promises, and he remains in excellent health."
