Voters across England are heading to the polls this Thursday, with more than 5,000 council seats contested in local elections. A total of 136 local authorities are participating in the ballot on 7 May, including all of London and several of the nation's largest cities.
How to Find Your Nearest Election
If you are registered to vote, you should have received a polling card with details of your nearest election. If you have not received a card but believe you should have, contact your electoral registration office.
You can also enter your postcode on the Electoral Commission website to find details of your nearest local election and the candidates standing. The Who Can I Vote For? website also provides information on candidates for each election being held today.
What You Need to Vote
