Ryan Thomas' Daughter Scarlett Defends Against Nepo-Baby Criticism
Scarlett Thomas Hits Back at Nepo-Baby Claims and Hate Comments

Scarlett Thomas, the seventeen-year-old daughter of former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas, has publicly responded to accusations that she is a "nepo-baby" and condemned the hateful comments directed at her online. The teenager, who has appeared on the BBC drama Waterloo Road and recently secured a record deal, spoke out during an interview on the Ami Charlize's Private Story podcast, where she addressed the criticism head-on.

Scarlett Thomas Confronts Nepotism Allegations

In the candid discussion, Scarlett expressed confusion over the term "nepo-baby," stating, "I don't even really know what it means." She acknowledged seeing references on social media platforms like TikTok, where users often romanticise the idea of being a nepotism beneficiary in Los Angeles. However, Scarlett emphasised her appreciation for the opportunities her family has provided, clarifying that their support has been more about guidance than direct placement in the industry.

Gratitude and Guidance Over Nepotism

Scarlett elaborated on her perspective, saying, "I'm just grateful that I've had all these chances; my family have given me loads of chances, and they've taught me stuff more than anything." She argued that her parents, Ryan Thomas and his former co-star Tina O'Brien, have not simply positioned her for success but have imparted valuable lessons. "They've not put me in places; they've just taught me, and I'm so grateful that I've had that," she added, highlighting the importance of familial wisdom passed down through generations.

Addressing Online Hate and Jealousy

When questioned about the negative feedback she receives, Scarlett attributed much of it to jealousy. "Loads of it comes from jealousy as well. It's jealousy; they want something that you have that they can't have," she explained. She also suggested that some critics may not realise how old she is now, having watched her grow up in the public eye, which could lead to misplaced judgments about her choices, such as her fashion.

Ryan Thomas' Proud Support for His Daughter

Ryan Thomas has previously voiced his immense pride in Scarlett's achievements on his family podcast, At Home With The Thomas Brothers. He shared details about her record deal, revealing that she signed with Julian Bunetta, a prominent figure in the music industry. Ryan excitedly discussed Scarlett's upcoming trip to Nashville, where she will spend a week recording in a studio, immersing herself in the creative hub of music. "It's just crazy to think that she's going to be in that studio in Nashville, where music is basically originating from," he said, expressing hope that her work might one day be heard on the radio.

Scarlett's response to the nepo-baby claims underscores her determination to carve out her own identity in the entertainment world, while acknowledging the supportive role her family has played. As she continues to pursue her acting and music career, she remains focused on her personal growth and resilience in the face of online criticism.
