Mel C has unveiled behind-the-scenes footage of her upcoming single 'Sweat', showcasing a dramatic transformation inspired by the TV show Gladiators. The 52-year-old singer, known as Sporty Spice, posed in a red and navy leotard on a small podium, reminiscent of the iconic programme.
The new single is set for release on 1 May 2026. In a video clip, Mel C admitted to taking a significant risk during production: 'We may have shot the video for Sweat before we got clearance on the sample... that was a big and expensive risk to take, but it paid off.'
Another image showed the singer in a khaki crop top and black cycling shorts, perched on a spin bike in stilettos. Marking the countdown to the album's release, she shared a celebratory moment with a cake decorated with her face and miniature dumbbells, writing: 'Prepare to SWEAT! Two weeks to go!'
Mel C recently completed her first Hyrox fitness competition, crediting her sister for encouraging her participation. She also spoke about her relationship with Australian model Chris Dingwall, noting that his flexible career allows them to travel together. 'It's so beautiful to be able to enjoy the life I have with the person I love,' she said.
Regarding a potential Spice Girls reunion, Mel C remains in regular contact with her former bandmates and is open to the idea, though cautious about getting it right. She is preparing to promote Sweat with performances in Australia later this year.
