Kerry Katona Shares Heartbreaking Miscarriage Experience After Celebs Go Dating Romance

Former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry Katona has revealed she suffered a devastating miscarriage after falling pregnant with boyfriend Paolo Margaglione during their time on the popular Channel 4 dating show Celebs Go Dating. The 45-year-old celebrity met the 33-year-old personal trainer on set in April 2025, with the couple moving in together just two months later.

Unplanned Pregnancy During Show Finale

In an emotional revelation on Paul Brunson's We Need To Talk podcast, Paolo Margaglione disclosed that Kerry was unknowingly pregnant during the filming of the show's finale. "So Kerry was, unknowingly pregnant at the finale of Celebs Go Dating," Paolo explained. "I found out in the morning. I could smell it on her, like, weird. I said, 'You're pregnant.'"

Kerry described the moment she discovered the pregnancy, stating she initially received a negative test result before a morning meditation session. "I got up early, I'll go do my meditation so I won't wake him up and I peed on the stick," she shared. "This is an exclusive, I've not gone public with this. Not told anybody this part from Anna. Don't get jealous. And nothing came up. So I went to do meditation, I'm just gonna pop this spot, I went back and went [looks at pregnancy test] no, no, no, no way. I ran and woke him up. Seven years I never fell pregnant."

Emotional Impact and Subsequent Loss

The singer expressed that the thought of terminating the pregnancy "killed her", particularly because she felt the conception "was made from love." Tragically, she suffered a miscarriage shortly after discovering the pregnancy.

The couple attempted to conceive again, only to experience another miscarriage at four weeks gestation. Kerry reflected on this second loss, stating "I didn't realise how much I wanted it then." This recent experience follows a previous miscarriage in 2022 that occurred around 2015, which Kerry detailed in her memoir Kerry Katona: Whole Again as resulting from a rebound relationship following her ex-husband George Kay's death.

Family Background and Recent Health Scare

Kerry Katona is mother to five children from previous relationships:

  • Molly, 23, and Lilly-Sue, 22, with Brian McFadden
  • Heidi, 18, and Max, 17, with Mark Croft
  • Dylan-Jorge, 10, with George Kay

Paolo Margaglione has two daughters, Milani and Nola, from a previous relationship. The couple's romance blossomed on the reality television program that pairs celebrities with potential partners.

In addition to discussing her pregnancy loss, Kerry opened up about a recent health scare that resulted in hospital admission. She described experiencing severe abdominal pain that she initially mistook for labor, requiring ambulance transport and morphine for pain management. "They said it's colitis. I've never even heard of it," she explained. "But it was horrendous, I thought I was in labour. Paolo wasn't in, he was at work, I had to ring an ambulance."

Following a CT scan, doctors diagnosed her with colitis, though she reports having "no problems since" the initial episode. The health emergency occurred the night before a scheduled photoshoot with OK! magazine, adding further disruption to the couple's lives during this challenging period.
