The Duchess of Cambridge made a subtle tribute to her sister Pippa Middleton at the Anzac Day service in London yesterday. Kate, 40, wore a diamond brooch featuring a fern design that closely resembled the maidenhair fern tiara Pippa wore on her wedding day in 2017.
The brooch is believed to be crafted by Chelsea-based jeweller Robinson Pelham, the same designer who created earrings for Pippa to wear as Kate's chief bridesmaid in 2011. Pippa later wore those earrings at her own wedding to James Matthews.
Kate paired the brooch with a white Alexander McQueen coat dress, previously worn at Princess Charlotte's christening in 2015 and Meghan Markle's wedding in 2018. She accessorised with Princess Diana's Collingwood earrings, a white headband with a black bow, and white gloves by Cornelia James.
The Middletons remain a close-knit family, with Kate's parents Carole and Michael and brother James often attending royal events. Last year, they joined Kate at the Royal Variety Performance and her Christmas carol service, signalling their growing presence within the royal fold.
The Anzac Day service at Westminster Abbey included readings from the Australian and New Zealand high commissioners and a performance by the Ngati Ranana London Maori Club.
