Professional dancer Karen Hauer has sparked speculation about her future on Strictly Come Dancing after appearing on Good Morning Britain on Thursday. When host Richard Madeley asked if she would participate in the 2025 series, Hauer smiled without replying, prompting Madeley to say, 'I'll take that as a yes.' Co-host Kate Garraway then asked if she was unsure, to which Hauer replied, 'I can't say. I don't know!' Fellow pro Gorka Marquez added, 'Only they know.'
Both Hauer and Marquez expressed a desire to return if asked. Marquez said, 'Of course, it's the best entertainment show on telly, you know?' The comments come months after reports that five seasoned professionals, including Hauer, Marquez, Nadiya Bychkova, Neil Jones, and Katya Jones, potentially faced being dropped from the show.
In November, a show source allegedly told Express Online that a major shakeup depended on performances in the 2024 series. The source said, 'The review of the line-up has always been about making a fresh start... The feeling is that the Strictly troupe is made up of some fading stars, while others are rising stars.'
Nadiya Bychkova was the first pro voted off in 2024, followed by Neil Jones and Karen Hauer. Katya Jones reached Blackpool Week before elimination with partner Wynne Evans. Express Online has previously contacted the BBC for comment on the rumoured overhaul.
