Gordon Ramsay's Real Reason for Skipping Celebrity Traitors Revealed
Gordon Ramsay's Real Reason for Skipping Celebrity Traitors

Gordon Ramsay's real reason for not appearing on the upcoming series of Celebrity Traitors has been revealed, and it involves a key rule of the show. The celebrity chef was reportedly in 'secret talks' with BBC bosses to join the cast alongside Maya Jama, Richard E. Grant, Michael Sheen, and others. However, when the cast was announced and filming began in the Scottish Highlands, Ramsay was notably absent.

Why Gordon Ramsay Pulled Out

A source has shared that Ramsay decided this year wasn't the right time to participate, as being on Celebrity Traitors would require him to give up his phone for two weeks. The source told The Sun: 'He was never actually signed to go in. He was in talks and was keen to do it, but then decided it wouldn't work. It meant two weeks completely off his phone, and for someone like Gordon who is running a multi-million pound business empire, that just wasn't going to work.'

There were earlier reports that Ramsay declined due to scheduling conflicts with another TV show, but the source clarified that filming could have been rearranged. The real obstacle was his inability to be offline while managing his business.

Official Confirmation

A representative for Ramsay confirmed to The Mirror that he said no because 'he's too busy running his business and can't be offline for two weeks.'

The Celebrity Traitors Cast

The celebrities who have been filming in Scotland instead of Ramsay include James Blunt, Hannah Fry, Joanne McNally, Amol Rajan, Bella Ramsey, Jerry Hall, and content creator King Kenny. Also taking part are Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock, actresses Myha'la and Julie Hesmondhalgh, Miranda Hart, Ross Kemp, Sebastian Croft, and Sharon Rooney. Comedians James Acaster, Romesh Ranganathan, Rob Beckett, and Joe Lycett have also signed up.

The Show's Success

Celebrity Traitors has become a highly sought-after show after the first series drew 7.1 million viewers and won two BAFTAs, including the Memorable Moment award, which is the only award voted for by the public. Alan Carr won the award for the moment he won the show despite laughing when asked to declare himself a Faithful.

Other Celebrities Who Declined

Ramsay is not the only celebrity to have turned down the show. Olly Murs revealed that he was asked to participate but couldn't due to other commitments, including a 400km Soccer Aid cycle challenge for Unicef and his brother-in-law's wedding.
