Anne Hathaway was spotted on set of her upcoming crime drama 'Eileen' in New Jersey on Monday, sporting a blonde wig that made her nearly unrecognisable. The 39-year-old Oscar winner, known for her brunette locks, underwent the hair transformation to portray an 'unhappy' young woman who takes a job as a secretary at a boys' prison.
Based on Ottessa Moshfegh's debut novel, the film follows Eileen Dunlop, a secretary at a boys' prison in the early 1960s. According to Good Reads, her character 'fills her nights and weekends with shoplifting, stalking a buff prison guard named Randy, and cleaning up her alcoholic father's messes.'
On set, Hathaway wore a cable knit cardigan, blue turtleneck, black trousers and UGG boots, paired with pearl earrings and natural makeup. She stars alongside Thomasin McKenzie in the film, which has been compared to 'Gone Girl'.
Hathaway is also busy promoting the upcoming Apple TV+ series 'WeCrashed', co-starring Jared Leto, which documents the rise and fall of WeWork. The series is inspired by the podcast of the same name and is set for release in mid-March.
