Chris Pratt has revealed that the bungalow used for his character Owen Grady in the 2015 film Jurassic World was destroyed during recent severe storms in Hawaii. The actor shared the news during an interview with Entertainment Weekly while looking at a still of the location.
Pratt said he received a text from his friend Jason Morgan, who owns the ranch where the bungalow was built. A tree fell onto the structure during the storms, completely destroying it. 'That was destroyed yesterday,' Pratt added, apologising to Morgan.
The storms, which hit Hawaii in recent weeks, brought 2 trillion gallons of rainfall over 14 days, according to a report from the University of Hawaii. The extreme weather caused widespread flooding, particularly on O'ahu's North Shore.
Actor Jason Momoa also shared his experience of the storms, saying he and his family were forced to flee the North Shore. In an Instagram Story, Momoa said their power went out but they were safe, while urging others to stay safe as conditions were 'pretty gnarly'.
The destruction of the Jurassic World set marks a loss of a piece of film history, as the bungalow was a key location in the blockbuster movie.
