Caprice Bourret, the former model and now businesswoman, has opened up about her journey through IVF, natural pregnancy, and the challenges of transitioning from a modelling career. Speaking candidly, she admitted that vanity once dominated her life, but hitting 30 forced her to rethink her future. 'I made a ton of money from my appearance. Then I hit 30, and in modelling terms I had one foot in the grave,' she said.
Bourret, who made her first million in her mid-20s, described the difficulty of moving from being a sex goddess to a businesswoman. 'You've got to put your ego in your back pocket and think: "Right, you're not this sex goddess any more. What's your plan B?"' She also criticised modern lads' mags, saying they now use 'bottom-of-the-barrel stuff' compared to the high-end photographers of her era.
The 53-year-old revealed her struggles with fertility, calling it 'naive' to assume you can have a baby whenever you want. After three rounds of IVF, she felt 'inferior as a woman'. Falling pregnant naturally was 'the shock of my life', she said, after the couple had already chosen a surrogate. Bourret now has twin sons, Jax and Jett, and plans to tell them that one had a 'babysitter for nine months'.
On marriage, Bourret said it doesn't interest her. 'I don't need a piece of paper to validate my relationship.' She credits her partner, investor Ty Comfort, as a best friend who supports her through everything. She also revealed her secret weapon: poker, which she learned from family gatherings as a child.
Bourret dismissed the idea of 'having it all', urging women not to put pressure on themselves. 'Having a nanny doesn't make you a bad mother – I have two, one for each baby.' She also warned against those who claim to eat whatever they like: 'Trust me – don't buy it.'
