Eva Abley, the 14-year-old comedian who impressed judges on Britain's Got Talent, endured seven years of school bullying, her mother Kelly revealed on Monday's Lorraine. Eva, who has cerebral palsy, joked about her condition during her audition but her mother said she had a 'tough seven years' and has 'picked herself up and is back on top.'
Now home-schooled, Eva raises awareness about disabilities in primary school assemblies, saying: 'I hope no one ever has to go through school like I did.' She also joked that her teary-eyed father, a firefighter, received more airtime than her during the show.
In her audition, Eva quipped: 'I'd like to apologise if you can't understand me, I have a disability called cerebral palsy, and I'm from the black country. So if you can't hear, wait until you get home and re-watch it with the subtitles on.' The judges, including Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden, were left in stitches.
Elsewhere in the episode, Alesha Dixon awarded her golden buzzer to rap and pianist duo Flintz & T4ylor, who met for the first time at their audition. The pair, aged 23 and 17, had connected via Instagram during lockdown and performed an original rap called 'Change,' inspired by Flintz's desire to steer his younger brothers away from trouble.
Amanda Holden praised the performance as 'so clear and so passionate,' while Simon Cowell called it a 'perfect audition' and a 'movie story.' Alesha Dixon said: 'Nothing makes me more happy than seeing young musicians. We've had no one on the show like you before.'
