Rapper Aitch Shares Gruesome Kickboxing Injury and Jungle Stories on Jonathan Ross

BRIT Award-winning rapper Aitch has revealed a shocking kickboxing injury that left him with a face sliced open by a man's toenails, during an upcoming episode of The Jonathan Ross Show. The 26-year-old artist, who appeared in last year's series of I'm A Celebrity, joined host Jonathan Ross alongside famous guests including Sir Michael Palin, Catherine Tate, Anna Maxwell Martin, and Myles Smith.

Horror Kickboxing Incident

During the conversation, Aitch opened up about his brief experience with kickboxing before pursuing his music career. He described a particularly gruesome moment that ended his time in the ring forever. 'I thought I was dead hard... I got punched and kicked in the face multiple times,' Aitch recalled. 'Someone threw a kick at me, his foot didn't get me, but, he didn't cut his toenails. The man's toenail sliced me down my face... bad that. Never stepped foot in a ring since that day.'

I'm A Celebrity Reflections

Aitch also discussed his time on I'm A Celebrity, describing it as both the best and worst experience of his life. 'Best thing is like, you learn to not care about the outside world. No phone... I kind of liked it. Kind of needed it,' he explained. He joked about the challenges of camp life, saying: 'Do you know how hard it is to clean yourself properly with boxers on?'

Addressing why he chose not to go nude during the show, Aitch humorously noted: 'You've not got no contact with the outside world, I could be on the front of the paper with my a**e out and I don't even know.' In response, Sir Michael Palin quipped: 'I'd take the money and run.'

Changed Recognition and Family Stories

The rapper revealed that the show has changed how he's recognized by the public. 'A group of 65-year-old women asked me for my number... I was sat at a red light. They all shouted at me, 'Loved you in the jungle!' Then one of them was like, 'Can I get your number?'' Aitch shared, adding that the encounter left him sweating and tense.

Discussing his family, Aitch explained how he tried to use his success to help his grandfather retire. 'I came to his house one day, I said, 'You need to retire.' I came with a load of cash. I said, 'You retire, take me nanna out, wherever you want to go,'' he recounted. However, his plan backfired when he returned two weeks later to find his grandfather in a new work uniform, having applied for another job instead.

The Assembly Experience

Elsewhere in the conversation, Aitch and Anna Maxwell Martin discussed their participation in series two of the BAFTA-nominated ITV series The Assembly. Aitch explained his reasons for joining: 'Loads of reasons, because of my sister really, a little soft spot for people with disabilities and doing anything I can to help out. Also I watched a clip of Danny Dyer and it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.'

He described how the experience restored his faith in humanity: 'I was going through a little thing of losing faith in humanity thinking everyone's a kn*bhead... walked out of The Assembly, with restored faith. There's no filter in that room, but in a good way.'

Anna added: 'It's a lovely experience. It's really good - it's a two way conversation. Not just talking about yourself, you're having a chat with lots of people, you get to know them a bit across the afternoon you're doing it. You share lots of stuff.'

Aitch concluded: 'They've all got a job to turn up there, they feel important. It's their show.' Anna concurred: 'Yeah, it's their show. [There's] value in every single person. That's why that show is just so pioneering.'

The Jonathan Ross Show airs on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
