Uber has released a list of the most bizarre and unusual items left behind by passengers, marking the rideshare company's 10th anniversary. Among the strangest forgotten objects are an ankle monitor, a meat slicer, and George Washington hospital discharge paperwork, with no further explanation provided for the latter.
Other peculiar items include pelvis implants, live fish, and a Donny Osmond group picture. Phones remain the most commonly forgotten item, with over one million left behind. New York City has been named the most forgetful city, while July 17 was the most forgetful day of the year, possibly linked to Lady Gaga's 'Mayhem Ball' tour starting the night before.
Recent trends show passengers forgetting Labubu dolls, collectible toys, Crocs, pickleball paddles, protein powder, and wellness supplements. Drivers have also reported finding dental items such as veneers, gold grills, and full sets of dentures, along with hats, vapes, and flower bouquets.
To help recover lost items, Uber has introduced a new feature in select markets that allows riders to request a return trip through the app once a driver confirms the item is found. After reporting the missing item, riders can arrange for the driver to deliver it to a specified address and track the return in real time.
