Stranger Things actor Charlie Heaton has been pictured in character for the upcoming Peaky Blinders spin-off series, which will explore the Shelby family's journey through 1950s Birmingham. Heaton portrays Charles Shelby, a character returning from war who has reportedly severed all ties with the violent Shelby gang and their hedonistic lifestyle.
New Era for Peaky Blinders
The new series is set a decade after the film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man and will also feature Jamie Bell as Tommy Shelby's eldest son, Duke, alongside Lashana Lynch and Jessica Brown Findlay. The show, commissioned for two series of six hour-long episodes, is scheduled to premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, and on Netflix across the rest of the world.
Creator's Excitement
Steven Knight, the creator and writer of Peaky Blinders, expressed his excitement for this “new era” of the franchise, moving the story to “post-war Birmingham.” The spin-off promises to delve into the complexities of the Shelby family legacy in a transformed Britain.
