President Donald Trump declared the US is going to 'beat the f***ing s***' out of Iran during an interview on Fox News on Wednesday morning, following a missile strike on American forces in Jordan overnight.
'We'll be hitting them hard. They're going to get a beating,' Trump said.
Missile Attack Intercepted
The US Central Command reported that all five Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted during what it called a 'surprise attack'. There were no casualties or damage to Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, which serves as the US Central Command in Jordan.
'U.S. forces remain vigilant and at a high state of readiness,' the official X page posted, confirming the attack at 5.45pm ET.
Ongoing Tensions and Peace Talks
Tensions have been high for months over the Strait of Hormuz, where multiple cargo ships have been attacked by Iran. Earlier this month, Trump told Iran to 'behave' and warned that more US strikes would target bridges and power plants unless they back down. Despite the recent attack, Trump said peace talks will continue and the US is 'going to let them keep talking'.
