Russia has threatened to strike UK military targets both inside and outside Ukraine in response to British missiles being used to strike Russia. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said any British military facilities in Ukraine and beyond its borders could become targets for Russian strikes should Kyiv use British weapons against Russia.
Kremlin warning over British weapons
"Any British military facilities and equipment in Ukraine and beyond its borders could be targeted in response to Ukrainian strikes using British weapons on Russian territory," Zakharova said. She added that London would not be able to avoid responsibility for supplying Kyiv with Storm Shadow missiles and the technology to manufacture them.
PM responds to threats
It comes as Prime Minister Andy Burnham accused the Kremlin of "outrageous threats" against the UK. "Despite Russia's outrageous threats to my country, we will continue our support for Ukraine," he said during his first official visit to Kyiv this week.
